Water feature wall provides privacy in small terrace garden in Fulham, SW6
The existing garden was overlooked by neighbours and as a result, it was rarely used and neglected. Blade water feature embedded into a naturally stunning slate clad wall provides a dramatic focal point day and night. Hardwood lateral timber screens create a back drop to the garden and provide screening and privacy. Honed travertine flooring flooring with raised planters of painted block and render walls ensure contained and manageable planting and recessed bench.
Project Brief
A young couple living in Fulham SW6 asked for a new rear garden courtyard space which would embrace their lifestyle and reflect their stylish interior decorating style. The existing space was also overlooked by neighbours and creating privacy was key.
Project Solution
This small terrace garden has been dramatically improved. An expanse of honed travertine creates a visually warming and eye-catching floor surface. Raised planters of painted block and render walls help create a defined and manageable planting area. Hardwood lateral timber screens create both a stylish back drop to the garden that provides screening and privacy. For a touch of drama, we embedded a blade water feature into a slate clad wall that is the focal point both during the day and night. Planting is simple and easy to maintain.
